Bennie

If you're looking for a dog who will adore you, Bennie is your boy! He is very much a “Velcro Doberman” – he loves his people and wants to be right there with them, supervising whatever they're doing. He is a sweetheart with everyone he meets. Strangers are greeted with a wagging tail and Bennie is great with children.

At home, Bennie is a calm, easygoing guy. He likes to follow his humans around, but he's perfectly happy to settle down when they do. He is housebroken and does not need to be crated when left alone—he is not destructive and does well staying behind a baby gate. He does have a cute little squeaky voice that he uses to communicate with his family.

Bennie isn't a particularly active dog, although he gets very excited when it's time for a walk! He also enjoys chasing a ball around the backyard for a few minutes and chewing on hard toys like Nylabones. Here’s a video of him chewing his bone and another video of him chasing a ball. He's very food-motivated and eager to learn new tricks, especially when there are treats and praise involved.

Bennie likes some dogs but not others, and we think he would be happiest as the only dog in his home, where he can have all of his family's attention. He would not do well in a home with cats.

Bennie has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The vet believes he is between 6 and 7 years old, and he weighs around 85 lbs. Bennie has an appointment for a dental cleaning on Oct. 6 and will be available for adoption after that.  His adoption fee is $350.
